In Fences, Cory worked at the A&P Grocery store on Saturdays in between his football practices and school. When Cory eventually quit his job to pursue a football scholarship, Troy forced him to return to A&P. A&P grocery stores were all around Pittsburgh during the 1950s, but their conservative policies inspired additional competition in the area. A&P officially closed all its stores in 2015. |
